Romana Sanchez joined Habitat NOVA in 2011 as the Director of Construction. Romana is responsible for the design and construction of the affordable and sustainable housing we build. Romana manages the procurement of gift in kind materials, equipment, and labor. She actively works in the field supervising construction and coordinating subcontractor activities. Among Romana’s most rewarding functions in the field, she leads Habitat NOVA’s volunteer workforce. Romana introduces volunteers to construction disciplines, and teaches applied skills on Habitat NOVA build sites.
Romana has over 25 years of practice in the field of architecture. Prior to joining Habitat NOVA, Romana was a founding principal of Sanchez Palmer Architects, PC, in Alexandria, Virginia where she specialized in design and contract administration of residential, religious and commercial commissions.
Romana obtained her B.Arch and Master of Architecture from the University of New Mexico and is a Registered Architect.
