Yes, all donations are tax deductible and you will receive a donation receipt to use for tax purposes.

Who determines the value of the items that I donate?

It is the donor’s responsibility to submit the value of the donation provided to ReStore.

Does ReStore pick up donations?

Yes, ReStore can pick up your donation. All materials must be outside on the curb prior to pick up. For more information, see the What & How To Donate page.

During what hours do you pick up donations?

What is a ReStore?

ReStore is a resale business that sells new and used building materials and home improvement items to the general public. All materials are donated by local retail businesses, building contractors, suppliers and individuals, and are made available for sale to the public at up to 50% to 90% below original retail prices.

How do ReStores benefit Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia?

The ReStore supports the work of Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia by providing a space where members of the community can donate materials that are re-sold and all proceeds benefit Habitat.

All revenue generated from ReStores benefits the mission of Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia to build safe, decent and affordable homes for low income families.

Habitat has been working in Northern Virginia since 1990, and since then has built or rehabilitated more than 90 homes.

Who can shop at the ReStores?

The ReStores are open to the general public and all members of the community are welcome to shop at the store for the best prices in town.

Is ReStore a discount club?

No. The ReStores are retail stores open to the general public. There are no memberships or fees to shop at the stores.

ReStores accept cash, credit card (Visa and MasterCard) and checks.

Do you deliver?

ReStores do not deliver. All items must be picked up from the store upon purchasing.

How do I donate materials to the ReStores?

Schedule a pick up, or drop off materials at the ReStores Monday – Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.; Sundays, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. For more information see the What & How To Donate page.

How long have the ReStores been open?

ReStore Alexandria opened in October of 2004; ReStore Chantilly opened in October of 2009.
